Ten days of giveaways and traveling down publishing memory lane and … new book news! Scroll to the bottom for the schedule.
In 2019, I once again took a detour I perhaps should have waited a little longer before taking ?
Instead of finishing Elemental Heir and wrapping up Ridley’s series, another story had begun calling to me, and I really, really wanted to write it …
It was an urban fantasy Cinderella story, with a mob-boss style godmother and wish magic. And even though I had decided AGAINST serialized publishing back at the end of 2012 (when I put those four novelettes together to form The Faerie Guardian), I decided to try it again. Mainly because Elle’s story came to me as “episodes” rather than one long story.
So I got started on City of Wishes and told readers I was moving Ridley Kayne #3 to later in the year.
It was a fun story, and I enjoyed being able to publish more frequently. I also LOVED seeing the complete collection of City of Wishes in one beautiful hardcover, along with the Creepy Hollow trilogies in hardcover! (These were the first hardback editions I had done of any of my books.) Oh, and I did the Creepy Hollow trilogies in paperback too ??
And remember how I told everyone that the third Ridley Kayne book would be finished in the second half of the year? Yeah, that didn’t happen ? Because the other MAJOR thing that happened in 2019 …
Our little girl Riley was born!

Reminder: I’ve created a special 10th anniversary design for the merchandise in my Society6 store. If you zoom in on the design, you’ll see that all the main characters (main character + love interest) from all the books I’ve written over the past ten years are featured in tiny text inside the 1 and 0!
i.e. Vi, Ryn, Calla, Chase, Em, Dash, Ridley, Archer, Elle, Dex, Sarah, Aiden, Livi, Adam, Andi, Noah, Sophie and Caleb.
There are some other secondary characters I really wanted to include, but once I started adding them … the list began to grow too long. ?

Oh cool! I’m glad you got a shirt with that print 😀 And the year that came after this one was sooooooo long ?? Though it was filled with a thousand precious Riley moments, so it wasn’t all bad ?

I absolutely loved The city of wishes!! When I finished all the creepy hollows books, the city of wishes is what filled that void!!
Rachel, congratulations on your 10 year anniversary of writing. I’m so happy for you. I’ve been a huge fan of yours since I found The Faerie Guardian. I fell in love with Violet and Ryn from the beginning and loved the world you’ve created. I have to admit that I’ve read that series, so many times. I always look forward to reading all of your new books and can’t wait to see what you have in store in the future. Here’s to you Rachel, cheers!
Riley is so adorable! I was ok to wait. It just build the anticipation right?! City of wishes was another unique and fun story! Love it as well.
It’s always so great to see an indie author staying awesome and in the field <3 I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook for The Memory Thief! 🙂 And you've introduced me to Payhip, so when I publish myself in the future I shall certainly keep that platform in mind! Thank you for offering the first books in your series for free on there! 🙂
I love Creepy Hollow It’s about time to do a reread.
I love Creepy Hollow It’s about time to do a reread.
I always loved the Disney’s Cinderella when I was a child but the adult me wanted more to the story than just a simple magic and happy ending. I needed more magic and more characters because that’s how life is. We do not just stumble upon the love of our lives and simply have them, we need to take efforts. And not just love, we need our friends too. And your story gave it to me. It’s a perfect retelling. Rachel Morgan, You Rock!! ??
City of wishes has been my first read of the magically penned masterpiece by you and since then I’ve subscribed to your emails to keep myself abreast of the latest works by you. Having recommended it to all my friends, City of wishes will always be my favourite first read. From ‘The Memory Thief’ to ‘The Everafter Wish’, Elle became the very reason for giving a read to all your works. It was after this, I came across Creepy Hollow and voila…
😊
Congratulations and gratitude for completing 10 years of writing as you’ve given us some of the most interesting and riveting works to read!
Keep soaring and conquering hearts with your flair… awaiting more of your imaginations!
😇❤️
Thank you so much, Shatakshi! I’m so glad you discovered City of Wishes 😀
So am I…Thanks to you!
I remember reading the first chapter of the first book and just being totally swept up in it. I HAD to know how it was going to end! (Granted, everything I’ve read of Rachel Morgan’s has been the same way 😂❤️). It’s your writing that keeps my love of reading alive! Thank you thank you!!
