Why did you decide to write a story about this character?
I’ve been planning to write several companion stories (yes, I did say several 😉 ) since before I began working on A Faerie’s Secret (Creepy Hollow #4). But at the time (end of 2014, beginning of 2015) I decided it would be a wiser decision to first continue with the main Creepy Hollow storyline before doing any companion stories.

How long is Scarlett?
At 40,000 words, it’s a little more than half the length of The Faerie Guardian. If printed, it would be approximately 160 pages.

Can I read this if I haven’t read any other Creepy Hollow books?
Your enjoyment of this story will be greater if you’ve read the books already available in this series, BUT it’s essentially spoiler-free, so yes, you can read this at any point during the series 🙂

Wait, this isn’t Creepy Hollow #6. WHY AREN’T YOU WORKING ON CREEPY HOLLOW #6?!
I was, I promise! But since Scarlett has slightly more of a role in A Faerie’s Curse (Creepy Hollow #6) than she’s had in previous books, and because some of her history comes into play in this next book, I’ve been thinking a lot about where she came from. Her story kept bugging me and it would. not. stop! In the end I decided that since I’m entirely in charge of my own publication timeline, why not stop Creepy Hollow #6 for a little bit and get Scarlett’s story out of my system. So that’s what I did. And then I thought it would be fun if I didn’t tell any readers about it, and instead surprised you all with its release!

Are there any familiar characters in this story (aside from Scarlett)?
Look out for a brief appearance from three characters you’ve met before. Two are easy to recognize. The third flies a little more under the radar.

Does this mean we have to wait longer for Creepy Hollow #6?
Yes, unfortunately you will now have to wait until sometime in June for A Faerie’s Curse instead of May, which is the month I was originally aiming for.

Will there be other companion stories?
So far I have companion stories planned for two other side characters. You’ll have to wait to find out who they are 😉

Will Scarlett be available in print?
For now it will be available as an ebook only, but once the other two companion stories are released (there’s no date planned for either of those yet), I’ll do a print version that includes all three of them.
